Langtang valley trekking

Langtang valley trekking trail is located a bit north of the Kathmandu; one of the most beautiful valleys of all times and is easily accessible by drive to Dhunche - trail-head of the trek. 12 days trekking into the Langtang National Park which is merged with high altitude Himalayan valley to temperate valley of lower elevation of the region to preserve wildlife and nature. The park is home to several species of endangered wild animals- the red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, common leopard, snow leopard, Himalayan wild goat and particularly birds and wild flowers. Mainly in spring the open meadow lands are carpeted with varieties of alpine wild flowers and the forests are multi-colored with colorful rhododendron, orchids, magnolia and many other floral species. The major attraction of the trek is Langtang Village and Kyanjin Gompa from where you will be fascinated with panoramic Himalayan view.

Initially the Kyanjin Gompa trekking trails follow through a sub-tropical jungle, and dense forests of oak, birch and pine trees before the valley opens out to further of Langtang villages. Then the trail gradually drops into sub-alpine meadows of open barren yak pastures. The picturesque scenery of the snow clad peaks Langtang Lirung (7,246m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri and other Himalayan peaks are always the main attractions. This trek is taken to visit some beautiful parts furthermore around Kyanjin Gompa so as to explore around and observe best views. We will provide experienced trekking guide for the trip, who has lots of information of the region and helps you in every sorts along the trail.

Langtang valley trekking itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu/ Nepal/overnight at hotel

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Dhunche (1950m, 8-9 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 03: Trek Dhunche to Thulo Syabru (2200m, 5 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 04: Trek Thulo Syabru to Lama Hotel (2480m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 05: Trek Lama Hotel (2480m) to Langtang Village (3900m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 06: Trek Langtang Village (3541m) to Kyanjin Gompa (3900m, 3 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 07: Exploration day – climb up Tsergo Ri (5050m )/Langsisa Yak Pasture/Yala Cheese Factory (4633m)

Day 08: Trek Kyanjin Gompa (3900m) to Lama Hotel ( 2480m, 5-6hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 09: Trek Lama Hotel (2480m) to Syabrubesi (1610m, 6 hours)/overnight at teahouse

Day 10: Drive back Syabrubesi (1610m) to Kathmandu (9-10 hours)/ transfer to hotel

Day 11: Free day in Kathmandu/ shopping/sightseeing/overnight at hotel

Day 12: Transfer to airport for International departure

Trek Package Cost Includes

  1. Airport transfers - pick up and drop upon arrival and departure 
  2. Full board basis on the way of trekking- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner -3 meals per day and overnight accommodation at tea house lodge.
  3. Transportation- to starting point and ending point
  4. Necessary trekking permit, national park, conservation and TIMS fee.
