Tourist numbers up in Annapurna circuit 2016.

    The influx of domestic as well as foreign tourists has increased with the beginning of the tourist season along the Annapurna Trekking Circuit.

    Sources at the Tourist Check Post in Besisahar, Lamjung district, said as many as 60 tourists pass through Lamjung for Annapurna Trekking Circuit on a daily basis.

    Around 200 international tourists reach the trekking route on a daily basis during the peak tourism season.

    TAAN said the number of tourists had increased along the circuit even during the off season compared to last year.

    September to November and February to April are considered to be the peak seasons for Annapurna trekking. with 5,039 international tourists recorded for last year.

    A staff of TAAN, Nanda Raj Bhatta, expressed hope that the flow of tourists would increase this year in comparison to past years.

    International tourists from countries such as Israel, Germany, France, Australia, the UK and America, among others, from across the world come for Annapurna trekking every year.

    Though the only entry point to the area is through Lamjung district headquarters Besisahar, tourism entrepreneurs are happy with the growing number of tourists in the area.
