Nar Phu valley trek is a far beyond the regular round of Annapurna trail in the north-west lies hidden valley called Nar and Phu villages which remained undiscovered by trekkers for long time. The region for the trekkers was restricted until 2002 A.D. and considered as inconvenient destination to visit due to lack of food and accommodation facilities. The mystic trekking in the unique valley has gained much popular day by day due to its rich cultural heritage in nomad land and amazing scenario of beautiful mountains as well challenging Kang La Pass (5100m) on the way to join regular Annapurna circuit trail. This is one of the remote area trekking with lodge to lodge accommodation in Nepal.

The society living in this valley has their amazing cultural respect as their own tradition for generation to generation. They believe that their ancestor were escape away from Tibet in respect to save their Bon-Po religion. It is a unique hidden treasure to explore across the Himalayan remote valleys inhabited by Tibetan origin groups where they are practicing traditional Bon-Po religion and Mahayana Buddhism together. Besides trekkers can also discover entire Annapurna regular trail together enjoy splendid views of awesome Himalayan peaks.

Nar Phu village trekking itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport Nepal. Up on arrival meet our office representative at airport and transfer to hotel/ after refreshing complete the official formalities/ briefing about the preparation and rest of the day free for your own leisure/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city- Historical  Durbar Square area, Pasupatinath Temple & Boudhanath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions and lunch break will be during the tour at best restaurants available/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 03: Drive to Chamje (1310m) approx. 9-10 hrs drive/overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)

Day 04: Trek Chamje (1310m) to Dharapani (1920m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)

Day 05: Trek Dharapani (1920m) to Koto (2640m, 5-6 hrs) /overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)

Day 06: Trek Koto (2640m) to Dharmasala (3230m, 4-5 hrs)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 07: Trek Dharmasala (3230m) to Kayang (3740m, 4-5 hrs)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 08: Trek Kayang (3740m) to Phu Village (4050m, 4-5 hrs)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 09: Excursion around Phu valley, visit old Bon Po monastery and observe nomad cultural lifestyle and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 10: Trek Phu Village (4050m) to Checko/Junam (3550m, 4-5 hrs)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 11: Trek Checko/Junam (3550m) to Nar Village (4150m)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 12: Explore Nar Village, enjoy breathe taking sceneries and fascinating local culture and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 13: Trek Nar Village (4150m) to Ngwal Village (3675m, 7-8 hrs) after crossing Kang La Pass (5100m)/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 14: Trek Ngwal Village (3675m) to Manang (3540m, 5-6 hrs)/ overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant) 

Day 15: Trek Manang (3540m) to Yak Kharka (4018m, 4-5 hrs) /overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)

Day 16: Trek Yak Kharka (4050m) to Thorung Phedi (4450m, 4-5 hrs) /overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)  

Day 17: Trek Thorung Phedi (4450m) to Muktinath (3800m, 8-10 hrs) crossing over the Thorung-La (5416m) /overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)  

Day 18: Drive from Muktinath to Jomsom (2720m, 1:30-2 hrs) /overnight at teahouse eco-village lodge. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at teahouse lodge restaurant)

Day 19: Fly back Jomsom to Pokhara and transfer to hotel, afternoon personal activities rest/shopping/sightseeing etc. (Hotel in Pokhara BB Basis) 

Day 20: Next day drive from Pokhara to Katmandu approximately (7-8 hrs.) by bus or fly to Kathmandu 30 min by STOL flight as you wish to have in your package, transfer to hotel, late noon shopping souvenirs around market and typical Nepali dinner party with culture show.

Day 21: Transfer to airport for International departure or if you interested to have onward programs- wildlife safari tour, whitewater rafting/ kayaking, paragliding, sightseeing or visiting main tourist attraction of around. Pease let us know we are happy to organize as you wish. 

Cost Includes

  • Airport transfers - pick up and drop upon arrival and departure 
  • Full board basis on the way of trekking- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner -3 meals per day and overnight accommodation at tea house lodge
  • Transportation- to starting point and flight from Jomsom to Pokhara
  • Necessary restricted area trekking permit, conservation and TIMS fee.
  • Supporting staffs (trekking guide and porter), as well as their necessary insurance, and accommodation meals allowance and salary
  • 3- Nights accommodation in Kathmandu and 1-night Pokhara in BB basis before and after the trek.
  • Domestic airfare, airport tax or overland bus fare for (Pokhara – Kathmandu) after the trek as you wish to have in your package.
  • Wildness First aid kit pack for the trekking.

Cost Excludes

  • Hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara extra days stay except mentioned in package.
  • Food (Lunch & Dinner) before and after the trip in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  •  Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, alcoholic beverages, bottled drinks (including cold drinks and mineral), tips for guide, porters, kitchen & camping team etc. 
  • Travel insurance and emergency evacuation cost.
  • Additional costs- extra days stay, incase of flight cancellation due to the natural calamities, bad weather forecast and other unforeseen circumstances
  • Personal trekking gear for the trek.
