Short Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary – 7 to 10 Days

Day 01: Fly to Lukla (2,800m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m) – 3 to 4 hours
Begin your Everest adventure with a scenic mountain flight to Lukla Airport, then trek along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Phakding village.

Day 02: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 5 to 6 hours
Enter Sagarmatha National Park and cross several suspension bridges before ascending through pine forests to the bustling Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar.

Day 03: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m) – 5 to 6 hours
Enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam along the trail. Visit the historic Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region.

Day 04: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m) – 5 to 6 hours
Descend through rhododendron forests and cross the Imja River before ascending to the high-altitude village of Dingboche, surrounded by alpine landscapes.

Day 05: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,950m) – 5 to 6 hours
Pass memorials dedicated to lost climbers and trek through glacial valleys to reach Lobuche, offering close-up views of Nuptse and Pumori.

Day 06: Trek to Gorakshep (5,140m) & Visit Everest Base Camp (5,365m) – 7 to 8 hours
Trek to Gorakshep, your final stop before reaching Everest Base Camp. Hike to the base of Mount Everest and soak in the achievement.

Day 07: Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m) for Sunrise Views & Trek to Pheriche (4,210m)
Early morning ascent to Kalapatthar for the best panoramic views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. Afterward, descend to Pheriche.

Optional: If you choose the 7-day Everest Base Camp trek, a helicopter flight from Gorakshep to Kathmandu can be arranged on this day, concluding your trip early in luxury and comfort.

Day 08: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar – 6 to 7 hours
Retrace your steps through Pangboche and Tengboche, returning to Namche Bazaar.

Day 09: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla – 6 to 7 hours
Complete your return trek with a long downhill journey back to Lukla, where you’ll celebrate the end of your Himalayan journey.

Day 10: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu – Trip Ends
Catch an early morning flight back to Kathmandu, with stunning aerial views of the Himalayas. End of the Short Everest Base Camp Trek.

  • Entry permit to Sagarmatha National Park and TIMS fee
  • Supporting staffs (trekking guide and porter), as well as their necessary insurance, and accommodation meals allowance and salary

Trek Duration Options
  • Standard Trek: 10 days (Kathmandu to EBC and back to Kathmandu)
  • Rapid Trek: 7 days (with helicopter return from Gorakshep to Kathmandu)
Best Time to Trek
  • Spring: March to May (clear skies, rhododendron blooms)
  • Autumn: Mid-September to November (best visibility, stable weather)
Trek Difficulty
  • Grade: Moderate high to Challenging
  • Suitable for experienced hikers in good physical condition
  • Involves long trekking days and high altitudes (up to 5,545m)
Altitude Sickness & Acclimatization
  • This trek skips acclimatization days, increasing the risk of Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS)
  • Not recommended for beginners or those without prior high-altitude trekking experience
  • Consider a slower itinerary if you’re unsure about acclimatization
Travel Insurance
  • Mandatory: Must cover high-altitude trekking (up to 6,000m)
  • Should include emergency helicopter evacuation
