The highlight of the day is the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang) - a must-visit on any short Bhutan tour. Perched dramatically on a cliff at 3,120 meters above sea level, this sacred site is one of Bhutan’s most photographed landmarks. According to legend, Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) flew here on a tigress in the 8th century and meditated in the cave.

Along the hiking trail, colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind, monks meditate in quiet corners, and the atmosphere feels deeply spiritual. Reaching the top rewards you with breathtaking views of the entire Paro Valley.

Additional attractions covered during your Paro sightseeing include:

  • Rinpung Dzong
  • Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan
