While non-vegetarian items are available in the trek regions, we advise against consuming them due to potential hygiene and health concerns. The Langtang Gosaikunda trek offers different experiences depending on the season. Here's a breakdown of the best time to embark on this adventure:
January to February: This period is characterized by heavy snowfall, making the trek challenging but rewarding with magical views of snow-capped hills and mountains.
March to April: One of the best times to trek, with favorable weather and stunning views of Langtang Lirung and other mountains. The trek is complemented by lush green forests, including bamboo and birch.
May to June: Just before the monsoon season, this is a perfect time for trekking. The spring-summer climate enhances the trekking experience.
July to August: During this time, the monsoon brings frequent rainfall, cloud cover, and slippery trails. However, you can still enjoy the trek with magnificent waterfalls, raging rivers, and occasional rainbows.
September to October: Another ideal season for the Langtang Gosainkunda trek, as the monsoon ends and the weather becomes pleasant. Clear skies provide excellent mountain views. This period also coincides with Nepal's major festivals, Dashain and Tihar.
November to December: Winter sets in, with snowfall making trekking challenging. However, November can still offer sparkling days with stunning mountain views. As December progresses, temperatures drop significantly, reaching as low as -5 degrees Celsius.

During the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, we prioritize your safety and well-being, especially regarding altitude sickness. To ensure proper acclimatization, we have included two nights above 3500m. One of these acclimatization stops is at Kyanjin Gompa. While acclimatizing in Kyanjin Gompa, you will have the opportunity to explore the Kyanjin Gompa monastery, visit the cheese factory, or take a hike to the Tserko Ri Viewpoint. These activities help your body adjust to the higher altitude gradually.
Altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness, can affect trekkers at higher elevations. It is essential to recognize the symptoms and seek immediate attention if they become severe. Our experienced trek leaders and guides are trained in first aid and will provide necessary assistance. To prevent altitude sickness, it is recommended to trek at a steady pace and stay hydrated by drinking at least 4 liters of water per day. If altitude sickness becomes severe, the best course of action is to descend immediately.
Your safety is our utmost priority, and we encourage you to communicate any signs or symptoms of altitude sickness to your trek leader or guide promptly.
It is important to budget for other personal expenses such as visa processing, purchasing a travel insurance policy, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, snacks for the trek, hot and cold drinks, alcoholic beverages, tips, and souvenirs.
We recommend carrying cash in major currencies, which can be easily exchanged for Nepali Rupees in Kathmandu. Please be aware that trek regions only accept Nepalese currency.
Travel insurance is mandatory for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek due to the possibility of high-altitude sickness and other associated mishaps. It is essential to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers medical expenses, emergency repatriation, including helicopter rescue and evacuation at high altitudes.
While we do not sell insurance policies, we can provide recommendations based on the experiences of our valued clients. In the event of an emergency, we will assist by forwarding your insurance details to your insurance company for processing rescue operations and arranging transfers to the hospital for treatment. Please ensure to provide us with your insurance information details after booking the trek.
