Less visited trail of Langtang Region is linked to the moderately challenging Ganja La Pass (5,100m) which lies northeast far corner of the Kyanjing Gompa. This pass is crossed by few trekkers because of demanding ascent. About 150m ascending requires climbing equipments and camping for 3 days. After crossing the pass, the trail drops to join regular Helambu valley trekking route. Those who are seeking for different experience of the Langtang Region trekking, this challenging pass will be the best and from top of the pass, trekkers can enjoy incredible view of whole Langtang range’s snow capped peaks as well far beyond Tibet side mountains. This is the adventure trekking trip in Langtang area which corss 5106 meters in Ganja La Pass and it requires experience trekking guide and porters to make you trip successful.

The Ganja La Pass trekking trail follows first night holding at the base of the pass and rest of the two days at Keldang and Dukpu. These two places are only used by locals during summer as a temporary stay point for yak farming. Further down the pass, the landscape is covered by appropriate pasture and suitable for the yaks grazing. This sub alpine pasture land is located above 4,000m of elevation and has cool pleasant climate. Especially local habitants of Helambu region use it for the main purpose of animal husbandry and search for rare Himalayan herbs.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu/ Nepal/overnight at hotel

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley/overnight at hotel

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1610m, 9-10 hrs)/ transfer to hotel

Day 04: Trek Syabru to Lama Hotel (2480m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 05: Trek Lama Hotel (2480m) to Langtang Village (3900m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse\

Day 06: Trek Langtang Village (3541m) to Kyanjing Gompa (3900m, 3 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 07: Exploration day – climb up Tsergo Ri (5050m )/Langsisa Yak Pasture/Yala Cheese Factory (4633m)

Day 08: Trek Kyanjin Gompa (3900m) to Ngenang ( 4000m, 3-4hrs)/overnight at tented tamp

Day 09: Cross Ganja La Pass (5106m), trek to Keldang (4280m, 6-7hrs)/overnight at tented tamp

Day 10: Trek Keldang (4280m) to Dukpu (4080m, 5-6hrs)/overnight at tented tamp

Day 11: Trek Dukpu (4080m) to Tarkeghyang (2560m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 12: Trek Tarkeghayang (2560m) to Shermathang (2621m, 4-5 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 13: Trek Shermathang (2621m) to Melamchipul (846m, 5-6 hrs)/overnight at teahouse

Day 14: Drive back Melamchipul to Kathmandu (5 hrs)/end the trek/transfer to hotel

Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu/ shopping/sightseeing/overnight at hotel

Day 16: Transfer to airport for International departure

Cost Includes

  • Airport transfers - pick up and drop upon arrival and departure 
  • Full board basis on the way of trekking- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner -3 meals per day and overnight accommodation at tea house lodge & high pass days on camping.
  • Transportation- to starting point and ending point
  • Necessary trekking permit, national park, conservation and TIMS fee.
  •  Supporting staffs (trekking guide and porter), as well as their necessary insurance, and accommodation meals allowance and salary
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu 2-nights in BB basis before and after the trek.

Cost Excludes

  1. Hotel in Kathmandu extra days stay except mentioned in package.
  2. Food (Lunch & Dinner) before and after the trip in Kathmandu.
  3.  Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, alcoholic beverages, bottled drinks (including cold drinks and mineral/hot water), tips etc. 
  4. Travel insurance and emergency evacuation cost.
  5. Additional costs- extra days stay, incase of flight cancellation due to the natural calamities, bad weather forecast and other unforeseen circumstances
  6. Personal trekking gear for the trek.
