The Tsum valley (some trekkers called “Chum valley” as well) is locally known as beautiful land of nature where trekkers can experience and enjoy cultural fusion of Buddhism and Bon Po religion. This hidden valley was unknown to the world people for long time until few year back. Now trekking to Tsum valley popular walking holiday destination of Manaslu region due to its hidden cultural heritage and awesome diversified land escape as well dramatic views of surrounding mountains. Besides that Tsum valley is also home for several wildlife, birds and vegetations among of them some are very rare.

According to local people of this area “Tsum” means vivid. This region is rich in ancient art and culture in the lap of the Himalayas. Local language of Tsum valley is came from Tibetan but different than it.  The newly open trekking trail of Manaslu region is semi restricted area preserved and controlled by Nepal Government and under management of conservation WWF.

Tsum valley trek itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport Nepal. Up on arrival meet our office representative at airport and transfer to hotel/ after refreshing complete the official formalities/ briefing about the preparation and rest of the day free for your own leisure/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city- Historical  Durbar Square area, Pasupatinath Temple & Boudhanath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions and lunch break will be during the tour at best restaurants available/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Aarughat by Jeep/ Bus 6 -7 hours, Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 04: Aarughat to Machakhola, 5/6 hours, Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 05: MachaKhola to Jagat, 5/6 hours, Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 06: Jagat to Lokpa (2040m-10km)5 hours walk, Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 07: Lokpa to Chunling (2363m-7km-3.5 hours walk) Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 08: Chunling to Chhokangparo (3010m-13km-8 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 09: Chhokangparo to Chhule-Nile (3361m-9km-4.5 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 10: Chhule-Nile to Mu Gompa (3700m-5km-3 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 11: Mu Gompa to Rachen Gompa (3240m-8km-4.5 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 12: Rachen Gompa to Dumje (2440m-11km-6.5 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 13: Dumje to Gumba Lungdang (3200m-6.5km-4 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 14: Gumba Lungdang to Ripchet (2468m-9km-5 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 15: Ripchet to Dobhan (1070m-14km-7 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 16: Dobhan to Soti Khola (720m-18km-9 hours walk), Overnight at Tea house Lodge (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served at Tea House)

Day 17: Soti Khola to Arughat continues drive to Kathmandu, approx. 9-10 hrs drive/ transfer to hotel. (Breakfast will be served at camp site and on the way of Journey Lunch at highway restaurant & Dinner self in Kathmandu and room BB Basis)  

Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu, visit Thamel market/ shopping/sightseeing/ typical Nepali dinner party with culture show/overnight at hotel. (Hotel in Kathmandu BB Basis)

Day 19: Transfer to airport for International departure
or if you wish to have onward programs- wildlife safari tour, whitewater rafting/ kayaking, paragliding, sightseeing or visiting main tourist attraction of around. Please let us know we are happy to organize as you wish. 

Cost Includes

  • Airport transfers - pick up and drop upon arrival and departure 
  • Full board basis on the way of trekking- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner -3 meals per day and overnight accommodation at Tea House or Lodge.
  • Transportation- Private chartered vehicle  
  • Necessary restricted area trekking permit, conservation and TIMS fee.
  •  Supporting staffs (trekking guide, kitchen team and porter), as well as their necessary insurance, and accommodation meals allowance and salary
  • 3- Nights accommodation in Kathmandu in BB basis before and after the trek.
  • Wildness First aid kit pack for the trekking.

Cost Excludes

  • Hotel in Kathmandu and extra days stay except mentioned in package.
  • Food (Lunch & Dinner) before and after the trip in Kathmandu and along the bus journey.
  •  Personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, alcoholic beverages, bottled drinks (including cold drinks and mineral), tips for guide, porters, kitchen & camping team etc.
  • Travel insurance and emergency evacuation cost.
  • Additional costs- extra days stay, incase of flight cancellation due to the natural calamities, bad weather forecast and other unforeseen circumstances
  • Personal trekking gear for the trek.
