Kanchenjunga trekking trail lies in eastern part of Nepal in between Nepal and Indian boarder of Sikkim state in the far northeast. Kanchenjunga (8598m) is Nepal’s second highest peak and ranked as world’s third highest Himalaya. Kanchenjunga trekking is ever best choice among remote trekkers group. Trekking to this area was opened for normal trekkers in 1988 and it gained long days trek in remote as a one of the best trail. Kanchenjunga trekking route belongs to two different base camps in Nepal side one is far northern Pangpema and another southern Ramche. Besides east Nepal’s cultural tradition of Mongoloid ethnical groups- Rai, Limbu of mid hill elevation and Tibetan origin groups of high land reflects their unique fusion flavor of the region. Rai and Limbu are also well renowned as Gurkha soldier for British regiment from Eastern Nepal.

Kanchenjunga Trekking Itienrary

Kanchenjunga Northern/ Southern Base Camp Trek Package

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport Nepal. Up on arrival meet our office representative at airport and transfer to hotel/ after refreshing complete the official formalities/ briefing about the preparation and rest of the day free for your own leisure/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city- Historical  Durbar Square area, Pasupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Swyambhunath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions and lunch break will be during the tour at best restaurants available/overnight at hotel in BB Basis.

Day 03: Fly Kathmandu to Bhiratnagar, transfer to hotel, rest or visit marker and overnight at hotel (Hotel in Biratnagar BB Basis)

Day 04: Fly Biratnagar to Suketar/Taplejung (2300m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 05: Trek Suketar to Phurumba/ Jogidanda and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 06: Trek Phumbra/ Jogidanda to Chirwa (1190m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 07: Trek Chirwa (1190m) to Sekathum (1640m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 08: Trek Sekathum (1640m) to Amjilesa (2490m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 09: Trek Amjilassa (2490m) to Kayapra/Gyabla (2730m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 10: Trek Kyapra/Gyabla (2730m) to Ghunsa (3430m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 11: Acclimatization day at Ghunsa (3430m) explore around and rest/overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 12: Trek Ghunsa (3430m) to Khambachen (4040m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 13: Trek Khambachen (4040m) to Lhonak (4790m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 14: Trek Lhonak (4790m) to Pangpema (5140m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 15: Explore around Northern Kanchenjunga Base Camp beyond of Pangpema and trek back Khambachen (4040m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 16: Trek Khambechen (4040m) back to Gunsa (3430m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 17: Trek Gunsa (3430m) to Seleley Phedi (4210m)/ cross Tamo La (3900m)/ Unnamed Pass (4115m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 18: Trek to cross Seleley Pass/Mirgin La Pass (4650m) /Sinion La (4660m)/ Unnamed Pass (4724m) to Tseram (3870m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 19: Trek Tseram (3870m) to Ramche (4620m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 20: Explore Southern Kanchenjunga Base Camp and Yalung Glacier around and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 21: Trek back Ramche (4620m) to Torotang (3000m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 22: Trek Torotang to Yamphuddin (1690m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 23: Trek Yamphudin to Keswa (1960m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 24: Trek Keswa to Lali Kharka (2220m.) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 25: Trek Lalikharka (2220) to Taplejung (2300m) and overnight at tented camp. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 26: Drive Taplejung to Ilam by Bus/ Sightseeing in Tea Garden of Ilam and overnight at hotel. (All meals Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner will be served by our own kitchen team)

Day 27: Drive from Ilam to Kathmandu by Night Bus, the overland journey is also a different experience with 2x2 comfortable folding seats /arrive next day morning/transfer to hotel and refresh and rest.

Day 28: Rest day/ free for personal activities/ evening meet with team of your trek enjoy dinner party together and overnight at hotel. (Hotel in Kathmandu BB Basis)

Day 29:  Free day in Kathmandu, visit Thamel market/ shopping/sightseeing/ typical Nepali dinner party with culture show/overnight at hotel. (Hotel in Kathmandu BB Basis)

Trek Package Cost Includes

  1. Airport transfers - pick up and drop upon arrival and departure 
  2. Full board basis on the way of trekking- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner -3 meals per day and overnight accommodation at tented camp or Tea House.
  3. Tented camping with necessary equipments, foods, kitchen utensils and supporting staffs (if you choose for camping tip)
  4. Transportation- Fly to Taplejung & drive out via Ilam after end of the trek
  5. Necessary restricted area trekking permit, conservation and TIMS fee.
