Upon arrival at Paro airport, you will be greeted by our tour guide. Then drive to Thimphu (2 hours, 65KM). On the way visit Tamchog Lhakhang, dedicated in the 13th century to Thangthong Gyalpo, the bridge builder. Once you get into the Thimphu, check in to the hotel. If your time permits, visit some sites around Thimphu.

After breakfast visit the awesome Golden Buddha (with 3km hike option) offering spectacular city & valley views. On the way back visit the National Memorial Chorten and continue on and view the celebrated National Textile Museum. After lunch visit Takin Preserve Centre. There will be leisure time in the evening.

You will start your morning with a yoga session at your hotel. After breakfast hike to Cheri Monastery which was built in 1750. The monastery till today maintains spectacular views of the cascading mountain ranges. Retreat inward with a guided meditation led by resident monks. After lunch in Thimphu, drive to Punakha. On the way you will enjoy spectacular Himalayan view from Dochu la pass (3100m., If the weather permits) and 108 Chortens. You will visit the Royal Botanical Park at Lam Pelri.

You will start your day by visiting Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. After lunch, hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley also known as “Divine Madman.”

Morning serenity walk and yoga practice. Hike to the Nalanda Monastery which is situated among the farming fields. Visit and meditate with the resident monks, partaking in their Buddhist teachings. Late afternoon drive to Gangtey.

After breakfast, introductory teaching by Khenpo and Sand Mandala building begins. The Tibetan Mandala is a tool for gaining wisdom and compassion. Afternoon visit Gangtey Monastery and practice meditation by resident monks.

After breakfast drive back to Paro. In Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, National Museum, Ta Dzong and Paro Dzong.

After breakfast drive through Paro valley-one of the most beautiful valleys in Bhutan with its slate-roofed farmhouses, graceful willow trees and rushing glacial river beneath snow covered peaks. You will visit Sartsham Chorten and take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest, (one of the most sacred places in Bhutan due to its association with Guru Rinpoche). It is believed that Guru Rinpoche reputedly flew to Paro Taktsang cliff in the form of Guru Dorji Drolo, mounted on a flaming dakini-tigress in the 747 AD, where he meditated and subdued evil spirits.
