Acclimatization on Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

During the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, we prioritize your safety and well-being, especially regarding altitude sickness. To ensure proper acclimatization, we have included two nights above 3500m. One of these acclimatization stops is at Kyanjin Gompa. While acclimatizing in Kyanjin Gompa, you will have the opportunity to explore the Kyanjin Gompa monastery, visit the cheese factory, or take a hike to the Tserko Ri Viewpoint. These activities help your body adjust to the higher altitude gradually.

Altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness, can affect trekkers at higher elevations. It is essential to recognize the symptoms and seek immediate attention if they become severe. Our experienced trek leaders and guides are trained in first aid and will provide necessary assistance. To prevent altitude sickness, it is recommended to trek at a steady pace and stay hydrated by drinking at least 4 liters of water per day. If altitude sickness becomes severe, the best course of action is to descend immediately.

Your safety is our utmost priority, and we encourage you to communicate any signs or symptoms of altitude sickness to your trek leader or guide promptly.

Additional Expenses and Travel Insurance for Langtang Gosaikunda Trek

It is important to budget for other personal expenses such as visa processing, purchasing a travel insurance policy, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, snacks for the trek, hot and cold drinks, alcoholic beverages, tips, and souvenirs.

We recommend carrying cash in major currencies, which can be easily exchanged for Nepali Rupees in Kathmandu. Please be aware that trek regions only accept Nepalese currency.

Travel insurance is mandatory for the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek due to the possibility of high-altitude sickness and other associated mishaps. It is essential to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers medical expenses, emergency repatriation, including helicopter rescue and evacuation at high altitudes.

While we do not sell insurance policies, we can provide recommendations based on the experiences of our valued clients. In the event of an emergency, we will assist by forwarding your insurance details to your insurance company for processing rescue operations and arranging transfers to the hospital for treatment. Please ensure to provide us with your insurance information details after booking the trek.
