The Makalu trek begins with the domestic flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar, then drive to Num village through Chichila, which is the trek starting point. You will be hiking through hilly region or eastern Nepal with the beautiful view of terraced farmland. Crossing the Arun River, the trek followed to Khongma Danda where you will spend couple of night on the way to the base camp of Mt. Makalu. Day hike to the Khongma La allow you to acclimatize with higher elevation and also offer the outstanding mountain vistas. Crossing the high passes like Shipton La and Keke La , the journey takes you to the Makalu base camp through Dobate, Yangle Kharka, Langmale Kharka, Sherson. You will enjoy a day explore around the base camp to experience the Himalayas and beautiful view. Then you will trek back to Num village thourhg the same trail and fly back to Kathmandu to conclude the Makalu base camp trek.
