Gokyo Lake trek in Everest region probably takes you to the paradise from where you will enjoy the most fabulous Himalayan ranges of Mt. Everest (Khumbu) region. To experience the alluring Mountain View/ panorama and pristine Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri (5357m) is the finest destination of the trip. Despite nature and the Himalayas, the trail, local Sherpa people and amazing Buddhism influenced culture will be seasoning on the trip. An adventure expedition to Gokyo Lake starts with exciting Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Then the trial follows toward Phakding, Namche bazaar (3500m), Dole (4200m) & Machhermo (4470m) to reach Gokyo valley (4700m).

Gokyo Lake, the destination of our trip is a famous lake in Sagarmatha National Park (Everest) and it is situated at Khumjung VDC.  The lakes in the lap of the Everest Himalayas range are significant for both Hindu and Buddhist as Hindu people take holy bath during the “Janai Purnima festival”, which usually occurs in the month of August.

From Gokyo Ri it is possible to see the various Himalayas including five +8,000m peaks: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchanjunga, and Cho Oyu, which will really make you feel the adventure for lifetime. After exploring a day in Gokyo Ri, we will be back to Lukla in 4 days through Dole, Namche Bazaar and Phakding village. And the following day, we will take a morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla to finish the trip. On this day during the evening out, you will be provided enjoyment in a very authentic way of Nepalese hospitalities with “Farewell Dinner”.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport Nepal

Up on arrival meet our office representative at airport and transfer to hotel/ after refreshing complete the official formalities/ briefing about the preparation and rest of the day free for your own leisure.

Day 02: Full day guided sightseeing around Kathmandu city

Historical Durbar Square area, Pasupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Swyambhunath Stupa which will take you to visit Nepal’s most popular attractions.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2800m), or Drive to Ramechhap and Fly to Lukla, start trek to Phakding (2610m)

Ramechhap to Lukla Flight (March, April, May, Second half of September, October, and November)
During peak trekking seasons, flights to Lukla are operated from Ramechhap(Ramechhap) Airport due to increased air traffic at Kathmandu's airport. Manthali is located approximately a 5 to 6-hour drive from Kathmandu. On the day of the flight, you will wake up between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM and travel in a shared tourist vehicle to Manthali Airport. From there, you'll board a 20-minute flight to Lukla, ready to begin your Himalayan adventure.

Kathmandu to Lukla Flight (January, February, June, July, August, First half of September and December)
In nonpeak seasons, flights to Lukla typically operate directly from Kathmandu, offering a convenient 35-minute journey. On this day, you’ll start your morning between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Our staff will accompany you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu Airport, ensuring a smooth check-in process for your flight. The decision to operate flights from Kathmandu or Manthali depends on airline policies and the volume of travelers during the month, ensuring efficient management of air traffic.

Flights to Lukla are scheduled early in the morning to take advantage of favorable weather conditions. We recommend organizing and packing all your essentials the day before to ensure a smooth start on Day 2. Upon arrival at Lukla, your trek begins with a descent towards the serene Dudh Kosi River, where you’ll connect to the main trail leading to Namche Bazaar. The route passes through Chaunikharka (2,713 m) and offers an easy, scenic walk. After meandering through the charming village of Ghat (2,550 m), a short trek brings you to the peaceful settlement of Phakding, where you’ll end the day.

Day 04: Trek Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3500m)

As we trek alongside the serene Dudh Kosi River, we cross its shimmering waters multiple times on thrilling suspension bridges draped with vibrant prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Upon entering the Sagarmatha National Park, the trail ascends sharply, offering awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding peaks. Our destination, Namche Bazaar, often referred to as the Gateway to Everest, awaits with a bustling atmosphere. It is a hub for trekkers, featuring an array of quality restaurants, comfortable lodges, shops, money exchange facilities, internet cafes, and delightful bakeries. This vibrant town is the largest along the Everest trail.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3500m)

This day is dedicated to acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar, where we explore and adjust to the thinning air. A short trek leads us to an intriguing museum showcasing the traditional customs and culture of the Sherpa community. We also venture towards Syangboche Airport, near the iconic Everest View Hotel. Here, the majestic Himalayan panorama unfolds, with spectacular sunrise and sunset views over the Khumbu peaks, making it a truly memorable experience.

Day 06: Trek Namche Bazaar (3500m) to Dole (4200m)

As the trail climbs out of the valley, we enter a pristine world of rhododendron forests. Higher up, junipers and towering conifers emerge, painting a beautiful springtime picture. Passing through seasonal yak pastures and summer settlements, the route offers uninterrupted views of the stunning Khumbi La and Tawache peaks. Our journey for the day concludes at the peaceful village of Dole.

Day 07: Trek Dole (4200m) to Machhermo (4470m)

The trek continues with a steep climb along a ridge, revealing breathtaking views of the valley stretching down to Kengtega and up towards the Cho Oyu massif. We descend to a serene river crossing before ascending once more to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. By lunchtime, we arrive at the picturesque settlement of Machherma, surrounded by towering peaks.

Day 08: Trek Machhermo (4470m) to Gokyo Lake (4790m)

Today’s trail leads us to the highlight of the trek, the enchanting village of Gokyo, situated at an altitude of 4,800 meters. This picturesque location will serve as our base for two nights. During our stay, we’ll explore the surroundings with rewarding hikes and marvel at the turquoise glacial lakes that make Gokyo a treasure of the Everest region.

Day 09: Explore around/morning visit Gokyo Ri (5357m)

In the early hours, we embark on a challenging climb to the summit of Gokyo Ri, standing tall at 5,483 meters. The reward is unparalleled – a sweeping view of the magnificent Gokyo Valley, the colossal Ngozumpa Glacier, and a panoramic spectacle of the Khumbu Himalayas. Among the giants visible are Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang, making this viewpoint one of the most iconic in the region.

Day 10: Trek back Gokyo Lake (4790m) to Dole (4200m)

Our descent from Gokyo begins with a retracing of the trail towards Dole. As we make our way downhill, the landscape transforms into lush forests interspersed with vibrant flora. The majestic peaks gradually fade behind us, replaced by the tranquil charm of the lower valleys. Upon reaching Dole, we settle in for a relaxing evening, reflecting on the day’s journey.

Day 11: Trek back Dole (4200m) to Namche Bazaar (3500m)

Continuing our trek, we pass through the picturesque Sherpa village of Khumjung. Here, we bid farewell to the towering mountains, retracing our steps back to Namche Bazaar. The familiar sights bring a sense of accomplishment as we descend through the lively trails.

Day 12: Trek back Namche Bazar to Lukla (2800m.)

We spend our final moments celebrating the trek, sharing stories, and cherishing the friendships and personal triumphs forged during this incredible journey. The remaining time in Lukla offers a chance to explore its quaint corners before heading back.

Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu or Ramechhap and same day drive back to Kathmandu

Early in the morning, transfer to airport and fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu ro Ramechhap, end the trip and transfer to hotel / Kathamndu, rest and afternoon/evening free for personal activities. Evening fare well dinner with culture show at Nepalese Traditional Kitchen you will be enjoyed very authentic way of Nepalese hospitalities.

Lukla to Ramechhap Flight (March, April, May, Second half of September, October, and November)
For travelers visiting during peak trekking seasons, the Lukla to Ramechhap flight offers a short 15-minute journey. Once you arrive in Ramechhap, prepare for a scenic 4 to 5-hour drive back to Kathmandu. However, keep in mind that traffic conditions on the highway may cause slight variations in travel time. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in a shared tourist vehicle for a hassle-free conclusion to your trek.

Lukla to Kathmandu Flight (January, February, June, July, August, First half of September, and December)
In the quieter months, flights operate directly between Lukla and Kathmandu, taking approximately 30 minutes. Upon landing at Kathmandu airport, you’ll board a shared tourist vehicle for your transfer to the hotel. It’s worth noting that the airlines determine flight schedules based on the number of travelers during these months, ensuring a smooth experience tailored to seasonal demand.

Day 14: Final Departure
