Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax, recover from your journey, or take a short walk around the lively streets nearby.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Preparation & Sightseeing
After breakfast, begin a guided cultural tour of some of Nepal’s most sacred sites. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, a revered Hindu temple complex along the Bagmati River. Continue to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a center of Tibetan Buddhism. Then head to Budhanilkantha Temple, famous for its reclining statue of Lord Vishnu. In the late afternoon, attend a detailed briefing about the upcoming journey and preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Kerung (2,700m | ~7–8 hrs)
Begin your overland journey toward Tibet, driving through scenic hills, rivers, and rural landscapes. After completing border formalities, continue to Kerung (Gyirong), a quiet town nestled in the mountains. This marks your entry into the Tibetan plateau.
Day 04: Acclimatization & Milarepa Cave Visit
Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude to prepare your body for higher elevations ahead. You’ll also visit the sacred Milarepa Cave, associated with the great Tibetan yogi Milarepa. The short hike and peaceful surroundings make this a spiritually enriching experience.
Day 05: Kyirung to Saga (4,640m | ~6–7 hrs)
Drive across the vast Tibetan plateau, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, wide valleys, and possibly herds of yaks and wild antelope. The journey is long but scenic, ending in Saga, a small town at high altitude.
Day 06: Saga to Darchen (4,575m | ~7–8 hrs)
Continue your drive toward the sacred region of Mount Kailash. Along the way, enjoy views of Lake Manasarovar and the surrounding landscapes. Arrive in Darchen, the base camp for the Kailash Kora (circumambulation), where you’ll prepare for the trek.
Day 07: Trek Darchen to Dhirapukh (4,900m | ~12 km, 5–6 hrs)
Begin your trek around the holy Mount Kailash. The trail gradually ascends through a beautiful valley, offering your first close views of the mountain’s north face. Reach Dhirapukh for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Trek Dhirapukh to Zuthulpukh (4,790m | ~22 km, 9–10 hrs)
This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. Cross the high Dolma La Pass (around 5,630m), the highest point of the journey. Descend past sacred lakes and rugged terrain before reaching Zuthulpukh. It’s a long day, but spiritually significant and visually stunning.
Day 09: Complete Kailash Kora & Drive to Saga
Finish the final stretch of the trek (about 3–4 hours), completing the sacred circuit of Mount Kailash. Afterward, rejoin your vehicle and drive back to Saga. Though it’s a long travel day, you’ll carry a strong sense of accomplishment.
Day 10: Saga to Rongbuk / Everest Base Camp (5,200m | ~4–5 hrs)
Drive toward Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, located near Everest Base Camp. Enjoy awe-inspiring views of Mount Everest (north face), especially at sunset if weather permits.
Day 11: Rongbuk to Kerung (2,700m | ~7–8 hrs)
After enjoying the morning views of Everest, begin your return journey toward Kerung. Descend gradually from the high plateau, giving your body relief from the altitude.
Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu (1,400m | ~7–8 hrs)
Cross the border back into Nepal after completing necessary formalities. Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a comfortable evening with time to rest or celebrate the completion of your journey.
Day 13: Departure
After breakfast, you’ll have free time depending on your flight schedule. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of a truly spiritual and adventurous experience.
