Note: During the peak seasons (Mid-September to November & Mid-March to May), all flights to and from Lukla are shifted to Ramechhap. Please be informed that during these periods, you will need to travel to Ramechhap, which is approximately 130 KM away and requires a 4-hour drive, in order to catch your flight to Lukla. After completing the trek, you will need to take a flight back to Ramechhap and then a shared van/bus shuttle will be provided for your journey back to Kathmandu, along with other travelers.
This arrangement is made to accommodate the increased number of trekkers and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our valued travelers. Everest base camp group join trek itinerary
Day 01: Drive to Kathmandu airport and flight to Lukla (2,652m), Trek to Phakding (3 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (L/D)
Early morning, you’ll be driven to Kathmandu domestic airport for a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the trekking crew, begin your journey with a gentle walk through beautiful pine forests and Sherpa villages. The trail descends gradually along the Dudh Koshi River to reach the small settlement of Phakding. Settle into your cozy lodge and enjoy your first night in the Khumbu region.
Note: During the high season (mid-March to May and mid-September to November), you need to travel to Ramechhap around 1:00 AM (130 KM, 4 hours’ drive) and fly to Lukla. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and back is diverted to Ramechhap due to heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport.
Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) (5 to 6 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
After breakfast, the trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. You’ll pass through beautiful villages like Monjo and enter Sagarmatha National Park, where your permits will be checked. A steep climb brings you to the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, the heart of Sherpa culture and a bustling hub for trekkers. Rest at your lodge and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
Day 03: Acclimatization day, day hike to Shyangboche (3,833m) (2 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Today is a planned acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You’ll take a short but steep hike up to Shyangboche, offering stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Visit the famous Everest View Hotel and soak in the panoramic scenery. Return to Namche for a relaxing afternoon exploring the market streets and bakeries.
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche (3,780m) (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Leaving Namche, the trail contours the hillsides with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. After a gradual descent and a crossing of the Dudh Koshi River, a long uphill climb leads you to the spiritual center of Tengboche. Here, you’ll visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, framed perfectly by towering mountains. Enjoy the peaceful environment before settling in at your lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4,365m) (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Begin your day by descending through rhododendron forests to Debuche, and cross another suspension bridge over the Imja Khola. Ascend gradually through Pangboche village, where you can stop to admire the oldest monastery in the region. The trail opens up as you head toward the windswept valley of Dingboche. Marvel at the stunning views of Island Peak and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge from your lodge.
Day 06: Acclimatization day, day hike to Chhukung (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Today is another important acclimatization day, with a hike to the small settlement of Chhukung. The trail offers dramatic alpine scenery and a closer view of glaciers and peaks like Ama Dablam and Island Peak. You can optionally extend your hike toward Chhukung Ri for even more incredible vistas. Return to Dingboche for rest and preparation for higher altitudes ahead.
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4,955m) (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
From Dingboche, the trail climbs gradually toward Dughla, where a memorable memorial site honors climbers who lost their lives on Everest. A steep ascent leads you onto the glacial moraine, offering amazing views of Nuptse and other towering peaks. Continue along the rugged path to reach the small settlement of Lobuche. Rest and prepare for the exciting day tomorrow.
Day 08: Trek to Gorakshep (5,164m) & Visit Everest base camp (5,380m) (7 to 8 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Today is the highlight of the trek as you head to Gorakshep, your last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After a brief rest at Gorakshep, continue along the rocky, glacier-filled trail to reach Everest Base Camp itself. Take time to celebrate reaching this iconic destination, surrounded by ice formations and towering peaks. Return to Gorakshep for the night, feeling accomplished.
Day 09: Climb Kalapattar (5,545m), Trek to Pheriche (4,252m) (8 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Start early in the morning with a steep climb up to Kalapattar, the best viewpoint for close-up panoramas of Mount Everest. After witnessing the sunrise lighting up the Himalayas, descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast. Continue trekking down through Lobuche and Dughla, then take the lower trail towards Pheriche. This lower altitude village offers a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) (7 to 8 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Retrace your steps through beautiful valleys and past familiar villages as you make your way back to Namche Bazaar. The trail is easier but still involves some ups and downs, testing your endurance. Upon arrival at Namche, reward yourself with a hot shower, fresh coffee, or even some bakery treats. Enjoy your evening back in the lively town.
Day 11: Trek to Lukla (2,652m) (7 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Today’s trek is a long but scenic descent through rhododendron and pine forests. Cross several suspension bridges and pass by charming Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi River. After a final uphill stretch to Lukla, you’ll celebrate the completion of your trek with your team. Spend a relaxed evening reflecting on your incredible journey.
Day 12: Fly Back to Kathmandu and trip ends (B)
Catch an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, offering one last aerial view of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel or onward destination. The trip concludes with wonderful memories of your Everest adventure. You’re free to relax or explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu as you wish.
