Early morning, you’ll be driven to Kathmandu domestic airport for a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the trekking crew, begin your journey with a gentle walk through beautiful pine forests and Sherpa villages. The trail descends gradually along the Dudh Koshi River to reach the small settlement of Phakding. Settle into your cozy lodge and enjoy your first night in the Khumbu region.
Note: During the high season (mid-March to May and mid-September to November), you need to travel to Ramechhap around 1:00 AM (130 KM, 4 hours’ drive) and fly to Lukla. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and back is diverted to Ramechhap due to heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport.

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) (5 to 6 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
After breakfast, the trail continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. You’ll pass through beautiful villages like Monjo and enter Sagarmatha National Park, where your permits will be checked. A steep climb brings you to the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, the heart of Sherpa culture and a bustling hub for trekkers. Rest at your lodge and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Day 04: Trek to Tengboche (3,780m) (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Leaving Namche, the trail contours the hillsides with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. After a gradual descent and a crossing of the Dudh Koshi River, a long uphill climb leads you to the spiritual center of Tengboche. Here, you’ll visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, framed perfectly by towering mountains. Enjoy the peaceful environment before settling in at your lodge.

Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4,365m) (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Begin your day by descending through rhododendron forests to Debuche, and cross another suspension bridge over the Imja Khola. Marvel at the stunning views of Island Peak and the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge from your lodge.

Day 06: Acclimatization day, day hike to Chhukung (4 to 5 hours trek) – overnight tea house lodge (B/L/D)
Today is another important acclimatization day, with a hike to the small settlement of Chhukung. • Weather: Cold temperatures at night, especially above 4,000 meters

Recommended Fitness Preparation:

  • Engage in regular cardio activities such as hiking, running, cycling, or swimming at least 2–3 months before the trek.
  • Practice long-distance walking or hill training with a daypack.
  • Strengthen your legs, core, and endurance with exercises like squats, lunges, and step-ups.

Altitude Consideration:

Proper acclimatization is built into the itinerary, including rest days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to help prevent Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS). Our experienced guides monitor your health daily and are trained to handle any altitude-related concerns.

If you are reasonably fit and mentally prepared, the Everest Base Camp trek is an achievable and incredibly rewarding journey. For those with any health conditions, we recommend consulting with your doctor before the trip.

Packing List & Gear Advice
